Personalization is a key factor when designing a tenant improvement space. Walker Design took the wants and desires of Park Square Homes and combined them with creative solutions to make the space function while remaining custom to the client. The Park Square Homes’ tenant improvement office is not only aesthetically pleasing, but uniquely their own.
Located in Orlando Florida as a recognizable company, the Park Square Homes’ iconic red was used throughout to infuse color and recognition. Upon entry into the lounge area, employees and visitors would be greeted with both natural and man-made elements. A custom living wall with a branding opportunity is juxtaposed next to concrete and plate steel. Using different materials helps shape a space and provides subtle contrast. Using the warm properties of the wood and live wall and combining the reflectivity of the stained polished concrete, metal and glass tile gives the space a holistic harmony that only attention to detail can achieve.
Architectural features were created on multiple planes in the space, but they all remain cohesive and connected. Carrying wood from the ceiling, wrapping down the wall and then extending onto the floor creates zone recognition and joins multiple architectural features together. Using plate metal as aesthetic ceiling application and transforming it into a functional furniture piece allows materials to become multifaceted. A unified design process and coordination of materiality is what makes Park Square Homes’ space beautiful and functional and distinctive to their brand.
