Losey PLLC has partnered with Walker Design to reevaluate the traditional law office in planning, form and function. Losey PLLC is a forward-thinking firm with a diverse suite of professional services requiring a purposeful space to facilitate their team’s functional demands.
The 13,000 square foot multi story building has existed as a traditional law office for the past 40 years. The planning, seclusion, and meandering circulation within the traditional law office was not practical for this diverse group of professionals. The primary design objective was to provide functional efficiency and workplace flexibility while combining the existing traditional architecture with a transitional aesthetic, breathing new life into the law office.
Upon entry, a monochromatic staircase adds a sophisticated contrast to the existing traditional architectural elements, while large clerestory windows flood the space with natural light. On the upper level, the subtle color palette, with its linear patterns, and diversity in texture provides the perfect complement to the natural wood elements situated at moments of pause throughout the space. The multi-functional gathering space, with its open concept footprint, encourages users to work flexibly while encouraging interdisciplinary collaboration. The outcome of the effort redefines expectations of what is customary for the contemporary law office.
